Clayton seeks proceeds of sale of New York apartment
U2 guitarist Adam Clayton has asked the High Court for orders requiring that he get the proceeds of sale of a New York apartment bought by his former assistant Carol Hawkins with his money.
The case will be heard early next year, the court directed yesterday.
Clayton, Kellystown Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin, claims the apartment was bought by Hawkins with his money for $465,000 in 2007. It was later sold and it is understood about €190,000 is held in the relevant account.
Hawkins, Crannagh Road, Rathfarnham, was jailed last July for seven years for stealing €2.8 million of Mr Clayton's money.
At the High Court yesterday, Eamonn Marray, for Clayton, told Ms Justice Mary Laffoy that his client was seeking the account monies frozen since 2010.
