Gardaí investigating the cultivation of cannabis in the Kerry area have seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €160,000.

Gardaí from the Kanturk drug unit carried out a planned search of a house near Rathmore, Co Kerry last night .

During the search, approximately 200 cannabis plants at various stages of growth with an estimated street value of up to €160,000 were discovered.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.

There were no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, gardaí said.
