€50,000 seized at Dublin Airport
Over €50,000 in cash has been seized at Dublin Airport in four separate searches by Revenue's Customs Service.
Some €7,760 was seized by officers during a random search of a 28-year-old Irish man as he attempted to board a flight to Amsterdam yesterday morning.
The man had €3,760 on his person and a further €4,000 concealed in his carry-on bag, Revenue said in a statement.
Customs officers seized €15,000 each from three Irish men in their early 30s who were boarding a later flight to Amsterdam yesterday.
Revenue officers were granted three month detention orders of the cash by Judge Patricia McNamara at the Court of Criminal Justice this morning to carry out further investigations.
