Sat, May 12, 2012 TRAVEL WALK: THE TOWN OF TRALEE is perhaps better known for revelry than for rambling and you would be more likely to be getting into your stride as “the pale moon was rising above the green mountains” than getting your boots on early in the morning and heading for the peaks which dominate the skyline. - Where to go when two's a crowd

Excited by all the great things I’ve tasted, experienced and thought, but pining too for the lost sanctuary that I am leaving behind – the elegant lay monastery that has been sheltering Irish people in the Quartier Latin for 250 years, but which so few of us take the trouble to go to. Sat, May 12, 2012 PHIL PRENDERGAST, MEP: What was your best holiday? About 10 years ago we rented a house in Barleycove, west Cork, with friends we had known for many years and their two terribly entertaining daughters. Sat, May 5, 2012 TRAVEL WALK: TRAIL RUNNING – not to be confused with the much more demanding sport of hill running – is becoming increasingly popular in this country. That’s probably in part due to a realisation that pounding out the miles on tarmac is more likely to lead to injuries. But it’s also part of a general increased interest in outdoor pursuits as opposed to heading to the gym and racking up monthly costs. - Culinary city breaks, family fun France
