Wearable sleeping-bag: Not sexy, but very cosy

Travel Gear: Gadgets to find your tent in the dark and easy-wheeling luggage

LED Tent StakeLights

There are few acts of exploration more intrepid – or perhaps more foolhardy – than searching a festival field in the dark for your own tent among the several thousand apparently identical ones. These waterproof LED StakeLights won’t obviate partying collateral damage, of course, but they may bring your sleeping bag within reach. Giving out 10 hours of continuous light or 24 hours in strobe mode, each aluminium stake is powered by one AAA battery. They come in a selection of colours for those who simply want them to brighten a family campsite.

G-RO Carry-On Luggage

The first thing that strikes about G-RO’s award-winning design are the oversized wheels, which mean a smoother ride on uneven surfaces. Plus they don’t need a cross axle, so save on internal space. Moreover, the higher rotation points raise its centre of gravity, so it feels lighter on the move. There are external pockets for easy access at security to your laptop, passport and washbag liquids. And optional power pack and tracking accessories mean it can be specced up to full smart luggage functionality, thanks to a pair of integrated USB ports.

Alite Sexy Hotness Wearable Sleeping Bag

San Francisco-based Alite Designs has a range of outdoors and camping gear, but seems to have opted for a clickbait name for its novel, wearable sleeping bag. The company says it’s “easily our most legendary invention”, so perhaps the strategy works. It’s part three-season sleeping bag, part synthetic down onesie, and you can unzip the legs for more breathability. Or you can also zip two or more together for a double or triple party bag. There’s kangaroo pocket for cosiness, while side zips for your arms let you enjoy a cuppa while still bag-bound.
