YR.no It's already the go-to weather site for a surprising number of users here and often they're quite evangelical about its accuracy. Now you can get the Norwegian weather service in an updated app for eight million forecasts across the globe or use your smartphone's GPS for your own location. Free on Android and iOS

FlightTrack One of the most popular and comprehensive flight planners, FlightTrack feeds you real-time information such as departure gates, delays, cancellations, terminal maps and flight updates. You can also work with groups and share information on a trip. It includes more 1,400 airlines and has a flight map against weather radar and satellite backgrounds. €3.69 for Android; €4.99 iOS
