Often on stage I get introduced as a veteran comic, after which I go on to explain that I’m only 48 and have never actually fought in any war. I also point out that this is disrespectful to people such as our grandparents who actually fought in the war. (With my granddad I have to take his word for it; in all the pictures he is wearing a balaclava.)
