Mai Geldof, aunt of Bob Geldof, dies age 106

Ms Geldof, a dressmaker, died in Sandymount in the house where she was born

The removal will be held on Tuesday of Mai Geldof, one of Dublin's oldest citizens.

Ms Geldof was in her 106th year. She is the aunt of campaigner and singer Bob Geldof and is the last surviving member of his late father’s family.

Her brother, Bob Geldof Snr, died in 2010, aged 95.

Ms Geldof, a dressmaker, died at home in Sandymount in the house in which she was born and lived all her life.

Her removal takes place from Quinn's of Glasthule to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Merrion Road, arriving at 3.30pm on Tuesday.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, after 10am Mass, to Deansgrange Cemetery.
