38 BMW i3: A desirable electric model

The i3 has just been updated and given a new, heftier battery that will carry it farther on a charge than previously. While the official figures are higher, BMW says a sensible prediction is that the i3 will now go for 200km on one charge, or 332km if you've plumped for the range-extender REX model which comes with a tiny moped engine and a nine-litre fuel tank stashed in the nose. Whichever one you go for though, the i3 was and is the most desirable electric car this side of a Tesla Model S. It's really good to drive, and if you can manage with the range, then it's about as cool a car as BMW makes.
