Savills scoop second tennis tournament win

The hotly contested annual Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland tennis tournament seriously tested the mettle of the competing teams last week.

Fairweather fans were neatly separated from the diehards when unrelenting rain poured down on proceedings.

Still, 15 brave teams battled it out, including two new teams this year, IPAV and Lisney.

Eventual winners were Savills 1, who took the title for the second year in a row. Not before a well matched mixed doubles battle against Independent Valuations who edge forward with each passing year. Losing semi-finalists were MFO and Hooke & MacDonald, always strong contenders in The Irish Times sponsored competition which was this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.
