Gannon offers homes in Longview near Swords

Prices start at €315,000 in the development A3-rated houses in north Dublin

When it launched in September 2014 Millers Glen, created headlines as buyers camped out in the queue to sign on the dotted line for one of the first phase of 65 homes which were sold on a first-come first-served basis. At the time it was the first major housing development to go on sale in north Dublin since the property crash seven years before.

The two-, three- and four-bedroom homes on the estate on the Glen Ellan road, about 2km north of Swords in the Applewood village area, were priced between €240,000 and €400,000.

Fast-forward almost two and a half years and 160 of the 1,000 homes Gannon has planning for in the area have been built and occupied.

Long View, is phase three of the development and when complete will comprise 136 homes. Of those 41 units were soft-launched two weeks ago with 24 selling in the last weekend of January.

Ronan O’Driscoll, chairman of new homes at selling agent Sherry FitzGerald, says that this is unusual and expects the remaining 17 to sell over the next few months rather than weeks.

In this launch there are four different three- and four-bedroom A3-rated houses for sale. All are traditional in style and concrete-built.

Designed by Conroy Crowe Kelly Architects, the well-insulated properties come with kitchens and fitted wardrobes by Cawleys, and with solar panels supplying low-cost hot water.

There are 11 three-bed mid or end-of-terrace townhouses, which measure 111sq m (1,195 sq ft). Prices start at €315,000.

There are just two, three-bedroom semis, 113sq m (1,216sq ft) in size with prices from €345,000.

The are two four-bed semis, measuring a generous 144sq m (1,550sq ft) in size and prices here start from €375,000. There are two four-bed detached properties, which extend to 147sq m (1,582sq ft) and cost from from €445,000.

The area is well-serviced with two primary schools, Swords Educate Together and Gaelscoil Bhrian Bóroimhe, and shopping, all within a five-minute walk of the development. The Swords Express has just confirmed its new Millers Glen stop and takes about 40 minutes to reach the city centre.

Construction is about to start on a new retail centre as part of Millers Glen that Gannon Homes expects will be open mid-2018.
