Construct Me by Amsterdam- based Studio Droog (0031- 20523 5050 droog.com) in Milan feat- ures hardware to have on show. There are flat cross screws, wing nuts, double tie-wraps, hinges with patterns, nail holders, patterned brackets and nails with an emojii motif. Prices and production have yet to be determined.

Stockholm-based Superfront (0046-868 441814, superfront.com) creates accessories to customise Ikea furniture. Door handles include natural leather pulls with brass or copper studs, €16; round balls in a rainbow of colours and a design called Holy Wafer, €16, a metal disc in brass, copper or silver.

A warm raspberry ombre pattern adds a fashion element to this hand-tufted Acacia rug. The 100 per cent wool design is available in three sizes: 140cm by 200cm, normally €445; 170cm by 240cm, normally €650, and 200cm by 300cm, normally €950. German take on a painted timber kitchen

This solid ash Bristol design from the Hacker range at Arena Kitchens (arenakitchens.com), Cardiff Lane, Dublin 2, is a German take on the traditional painted timber style. It features agate blue lacquered units with solid beech countertops, oval brushed steel handles, open display areas and three-quarter glass-fronted dresser cabinets. Throw some (LED) light on the subject

If you like the idea of simple central lights that sit flush with the ceiling and can be painted any colour to match, then this Atelier Sedap design from Dublin 12-based Lamps and Lighting (01-620 5752, lampsandlighting.ie), Canal Walk, Kavanagh Avenue, Park West, could be just the illumination your room needs.

The dimmable design comes in two sizes; the smaller is 92cm in diameter and normally costs €1,035 and the larger is 112cm in diameter, €1,245, two of which are pictured. Starck style for great outdoors

Portfolio is a new exhibition of Irish-designed furniture curated by interior designer Eoin Lyons and architect John Kelly, showing at both Solomon Galleries (solomonfineart.ie) – the main gallery on Balfe Street and the newer satellite space that has popped up at Unit 2 in the Westbury Mall. Many of the pieces have already graced these pages, but of the new works stand-outs include the copper frame tables by Shane Holland (shanehollanddesign.com)with yew wood tops that feature bronze and resin inserts and cost €800 each. The highly collectible Zelouf and Bell's (zeloufandbell.com) latest confection is Gimlet, a cocktail cabinet made of blue ripple sycamore inlaid with polished aluminium. The top and doors fold back to reveal a leather-lined interior set on a stainless steel frame with sterling silver pulls and sapphire-coloured quartz shelves. One of an edition of six, it costs €26,875.
