Watercolours in Dun Laoghaire show

More than 270 selected paintings, prints and drawings will be on sale by more than 100 leading Irish contemporary watercolour artists


The Water Colour Society of Ireland’s 160th exhibition opens on Monday .

The selling exhibition is Ireland’s largest watercolours event and one of the biggest national group art shows.

More than 270 selected paintings, prints and drawings will be on sale by more than 100 leading Irish contemporary watercolour artists. Subjects include landscapes, seascapes, still life, animal, floral and life studies, as well as botanical, architectural and figure work, in representational, contemporary and abstract treatments.

Prices range from €350-€850.

Ann O'Clery, the new president of the Water Colour Society of Ireland, said this year's exhibition would include a free "Art Activity Day" on Saturday next, October 4th to include watercolour demonstrations by exhibiting artists in the morning and a free valuation and assessment of works on paper (including watercolours) by fine art auctioneers Whyte's in the afternoon.

The 160th exhibition of the Water Colour Society of Ireland, open to the public at the Concourse Arts Gallery, Dún Laoghaire County Hall, Co Dublin, Monday, September 29th until Sunday, October 5th.
