Lot 409, a Georgian-style mahogany dining table €2,000 (€1,800-€2,200); Lot 604, a set of four cast-iron and copper hooded street lamps €1,600 (€800-€1,200); Lot 361, a Georgian mahogany and brass-bound fuel bucket €1,600 (€900-€1,000); Lot 337, a French gilt-framed overmantel mirror 1,200 (800-1,200); Lot 594, two leather-bound Louis Vuitton suitcases €1,100 (€800-€1,200). Among the unsold was Lot 288, a pair of marble and gilt brass-mounted urns on pedestals (€1,200-€1,500).

The main pieces are described as "The Property of a Gentleman" and include: a diamond and onyx-set art deco-style ring, with an 8ct diamond about 13mm in diameter, colour estimated as J/K/L and clarity as SI2/3, the diamond cut in the 1890s and the ring set circa late circa 1920s 1930s that the auctioneer said was "the largest diamond of this quality that I personally in 17 years of business have been asked to auction" estimated at €80,000-€90,000; a 3ct diamond single stone ring signed Chaumet Paris (€28,000-€32,000); a Ceylon sapphire (20.95cts) and diamond ring (€45,000-€55,000); a diamond & emerald set brooch, set with a Colombian emerald (1.80cts & 4 diamonds, two 2cts each & two as 0.35cts (€24,000-€28,000); a sapphire carved as a lion's head (€3,400-€3,800). Friday, April 20th, Christie's, New York. 'The Exceptional Sale' includes James Bond 007 film star Daniel Craig's personal (left-hand-drive) Aston Martin Vanquish (estimate $400,000-$600,000) with proceeds going to charity. The car, one of 100 "Centenary Vanquish" models built in 2014 to celebrate Aston Martin's 100th anniversary, was customised by the marque's chief creative director Marek Reichman in consultation with Craig. Christie's described the car, with a unique midnight blue exterior and deep blue, hand-stitched, luxury leather interior as "like a 21st century sculpture that comes equipped with an incredibly fine engine".

Saturday & Sunday, April 21st & 22nd, Matthews Auction Rooms, Oldcastle, Co Meath, is holding a two-day auction of jewellery, antiques, art and interiors at 1.30pm each day with over 1,000 lots.
