Inistioge pictures turn up in London auction
The artist was Hannah Tighe of the aristocratic family who lived at the Woodstock estate that overlooks the village. The house was burned down by the IRA in 1922 but its renowned Victorian gardens have been extensively restored and opened to the public.
Hannah Tighe married Lord Patrick James Crichton-Stuart and moved to Scotland where she died in 1872. Her five sketchbooks also feature locations in Britain, France and Spain. Estimates from
