Dolan’s Art Auction house is holding a Bank Holiday art and antiques auction in Kelly’s Hotel, Rosslare, Co Wexford on Monday at noon. Viewing is underway and continues throughout the weekend. With an emphasis on affordable art, many of the estimates are under €1,000.

Appropriately for the location, paintings with seaside themes include Incoming Tide by Olive Bodeker (€400-€500); Fun On The Beach by Thelma Mansfield (€500-€700); Kilmore Quay Harbour by Ivan Sutton (€800-€1,000) and, Summer Reflections by John Morris (€1,500- €2,500).

Also in the auction is a selection of paintings and furniture from the collection of artist Kenneth Webb, with some of his own work including Sweet Pea From The Garden (€3,000-€4,000); and paintings from Wexford artist Carol Ann Waldron to be sold without reserve.

Among a selection of collectible books is a first edition of the History of the Town and County of Wexford by Philip Herbert Hore, €2,000-€3,000.
