Contents of house once owned by Sean Connery for sale
Auctioneer Damien Matthews said the house was owned in the 1970s by Scottish film star Sean Connery who subsequently sold it, and many of the contents, to the “aristocratic German Hatten-Hauer family”. The sale will feature more than 750 lots including Irish Georgian furniture, oriental porcelain, Victorian paintings “and some jewellery including a gold Rolex watch which belonged to Connery”.
Viewing, at the house, begins on Friday, November 1st, at 11am. Matthews is also handling the private treaty sale of the house, “a Victorian ‘gothic’ mansion on three-and-half-acres”, with an asking price of €1.65 million.
