Around the Block: Buyer’s agent moves into the seller’s market

News reaches the Block that lone star Karen Mulvaney is to join the ranks of Sherry FitzGerald.

Through the downturn Mulvaney forged a successful business championing the cause of the bewildered buyer with her company, The Buyer’s Agent. Now she has moved to the corporate world to become manager of Sherry’s Killester branch.

It’s a statement of intent by Sherry Fitz to put Mulvaney at the helm of its offensive in the Clontarf and Killester areas where Gallagher Quigley and DNG already have strong footholds. A native of the area, Mulvaney has built a good reputation and has strong local connections.

“I have always enjoyed being a buyer’s agent, looking after the interests of my clients, and now I look forward to integrating those skills into the entire sales process,” Mulvaney said.

She will head the existing team of five at the Killester branch.

Meanwhile, The Buyer’s Agent has been taken on by Mulvaney’s former colleagues, who will continue to operate the business as normal.
