Old, new and blue

Benedict and Beatrice (087-652 4473; benedictandbeatrice.com) is a new online furniture company that reimagines antique furniture. Owner Ann Mooney wanted to contextualise decorative auction finds in the modern home. You can view them this Saturday from 11am to 5pm at the Marvin windows showroom at 71/72 Grove Road, in Rathmines, Dublin 6. The first Irish Times reader to call can purchase this ornate Regatus sideboard painted in lustrous cobalt and Prussian blues less 30 per cent. Normally, €745, it can be yours for €497. The piece is 137cm long, 58cm deep and 124cm tall. Delivery is free within the greater Dublin area on purchases and orders made on Saturday.

Trending . . . Popping up

Award-winning Bethan Gray is just one of many top designers on show at Maoliosa Murray’s (087- 9114946; maoliosa.com) pop-up shop at Ebony and Co, 39 Upper Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2. Brogue (right) is a three-legged chair from Gray’s GT collection that champions the detailing on traditional Irish footwear and is in part inspired by a visit to view the traditional furniture on display at the museum of country life at Turlough Park in Castlebar. The pop-up is in situ until January 5th and includes furniture by Jonathan Adler and David Linley, wall hangings by Diane von Furstenberg, Kelly Wearstler and Paul Smith, and black skull cushions by Alexander McQueen.

Woodloc is your oyster

Upgrade the look of your home with wide-plank Kahrs engineered wood flooring: ideal if you’re installing underfloor heating. The company’s Woodloc system means the flooring is less likely to bow, warp or buckle during changes of temperature.

This Oyster oak has a hand-scraped, -bevelled and -brushed natural oil finish that gives it a lived-in, worn surface. The pale-coloured stain creates a sense of light and warmth.

The Oyster can be purchased at a discount of 30 per cent by Irish Times readers on presentation of today’s paper (€76.41 per metre, reduced from €109.16 per metre). This offer is valid from today until December 13th inclusive, while stocks last, at Tile Style (01-855 5200; tilestyle.ie), on Ballymount Road Upper, Dublin 24.
