Health tip of the day: sniff rosemary

Inhaling the herb’s scent can improve memory

Rosemary has been associated with memory in one way or another for many years, but a recent study by Prof Mark Moss at Northumbria University found that it’s not as hokey as it sounds.

Sniffing rosemary, or inhaling the scent of rosemary essential oil, can improve your future memory – the part of your memory that allows you to remember to remember, essentially.

While there was no conclusion on whether it improved your memory long term, catching a whiff of the aromatic herb might help keep you sharp before a meeting or a test.
