BRITVIC IRELAND

ABP IRELAND

Background
Based in Ardee, Co Louth, ABP is Europe's leading beef exporter. The company specialises in beef processing, de-boning and retail packing.

Plans are underway for ABP to enter the American beef market following the expected lifting of the US ban on European beef. A group investment programme is underway totalling in excess of €45 million.

Success at Home
The fresh beef range in Aldi has developed since 2005 when ABP began supplying the retailer. ABP developed the Specially Selected Irish Angus and fresh beef ranges, in partnership with Aldi, to capture the growing premium steak category. This initially covered striploin and ribeye steaks and has recently being extended to include mince, diced beef and burgers.

Aldi is now seen as a destination location for purchasing premium quality steaks at an affordable price.

KILLOWEN FARM

Background
Killowen Farm is run by the Dunne family, who have been farming near Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, for nine generations. Killowen yoghurts have been around for over 30 years and were the first farmhouse yogurts to be made in Ireland. In recent times, the Dunne's moved production on to their dairy farm and it is the only yogurt in Ireland to be produced with milk that comes exclusively from one farm.
