This week, I step inside Dublin’s newest speciality boutique – Anthony Peto. Parisian owner Anthony is an expert in his field and it shows in his beautiful hat boutique, located on South Anne Street in Dublin 2.

What made you make the move to Dublin?

I fell in love with Dublin 12 years ago. I loved it through the bad times, and now I love it even more. For me it is the most fun and dynamic city in Europe.

Tell us about your personal style. What is your favourite piece that you own?

My personal style is so simple that I don’t know if it deserves the term. Dark colours, jackets, nice shoes. So my choice of glasses has to be important – either Cutler and Gross or Tom Ford. I have a wonderful grey jacket with big lapels from Dries Van Noten that we bought from his beautiful shop in Antwerp.

Do you have a favourite place to shop for clothing in Dublin?

I would be lying if I didn’t admit that Brown Thomas is my favourite store in Dublin. I would like to live there.

What was your inspiration for the spring/summer collection? What hat trend are you most looking forward to bringing to Dublin and when will the new collection be in store?

The new collection will be in store in March. My inspiration comes from the bleached-out colours produced by the hot Mediterranean sun, which have their own palette of pale blues, greens and pinks. These look really great on panama hats, and as the trend is for bigger and bigger hats, these colours are going to be gorgeous and easy to wear.
