The art of the scarf with Richard Gorman

One of Ireland’s foremost abstract artists Richard Gorman must be the first from this country whose powerful and colourful work has surfaced on a Hermes scarf.

The silk twill scarf on which his characteristic bold intersecting shapes feature is called Squeeze (£310 at ukhermes.com). The design also had a second life in the menswear AW15 show where it was used on men's shirts and even on a calfskin jacket. Now based in Milan, Gorman will be in Dublin next Wednesday opening the RDS Library Speakers.
