The sale kicks off on St Stephen’s Day, and the Dublin department store’s claim to fame this year is that 30,000 pairs of shoes from its Shoe Garden – Ireland’s largest shoe department – will be discounted by up to 50 per cent. Discounts continue across all departments. Glittery short Uggs may seem an oxymoron, but if you can’t have a laugh with a pair of Uggs, really, when can you? Reduced from €225 to €155.
Asos’s sale is on now and includes items at up to 50 per cent reduction. Be specific about what you want, and think ruthlessly: if you wouldn’t have loved it at full price, you don’t love it now.
Avoca

The sale starts on December 27th, with discounts across womenswear, menswear and its extensive homeware range. Star buy: Rain is the one thing you can utterly depend on, and a mac will keep you dry in a downpour. Reduced from €120 to €99.

Brown Thomas’s sale starts on St Stephen’s Day at 9am, with the exception of Brown Thomas’s Cork store, which will open at 10am. All will have reductions of up to 60 per cent off womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, accessories, footwear, lingerie and home. Star buy: Fabulous Stella McCartney scuba dress reduced from €2,295 to €850.

Buffalo has already started a “soft sale” (early discounts before the January sale kicks off) in Arnotts, but its sale starts on St Stephen’s Day in Arnotts and on December 27th in its Exchequer Street store.
Expect big discounts on ankle boots, wedge trainers, heels and flats. Star buy: Designer-inspired wedge trainers are €100, reduced from €175.

Sale is now on, with up to 50 per cent off eveningwear, party dresses and accessories. Its higher-priced dresses are fairly timeless, so worth the investment if you have a wedding on the cards. Star buy: Navy dress, reduced from €225 to €159.
