What is the Best Shops in Ireland competition?

It’s time to get your nominations in for this year’s competition

Readers, it’s that time of the year again when we’d like you to tell us about your favourite shops. Whether it’s a bakery or a boutique, a beauty salon or a bric-a-brac store, an ice cream parlour or even a market stall you think deserves a gong.

It could be your local post-office or an out of the way store that’s well worth the journey.

Now in its fourth year, The Irish Times Best Shops in Ireland awards highlight independent retailers with inspiring stock, new ideas and friendly service.

This year, the competition is being sponsored by Clover, an AIB Merchant Services product.

In the past you’ve nominated all kinds of establishments from the old style drapery stores to friendly petrol stations, and general stores.

Last year we received more than over 27,000 nominations for 2,700 shops from every county in Ireland.

Shopkeepers, we want to hear your stories, so ask your customers to nominate you – and may the best shops win.
