Knowing how our parliamentary democracy works is the first step to having a voice. The Houses of the Oireachtas and its Members are visiting every secondary school in the country with a workshop that gives the next generation the know-how to participate.

90 Years of the Houses of the Oireachtas Exhibition

Ireland’s political evolution since the meeting of the first Dáil in 1919 will be captured through a pictorial exhibition that will tour the country from March.

Rare images and photographs, alongside some of the emblematic political photo-journalism of the 20th century, will portray how the Dáil and Seanad have been at the heart of Irish life over the last nine decades.

The Houses of the Oireachtas Parliamentary Fellowship

The Parliamentary Fellowship offers students a chance to apply their research in a way that helps encourage public interest and understanding in the work of the Houses of the Oireachtas and its members. The inaugural Parliamentary Fellowship will be open to applications from PhD research students in May.
