What is Higher Options?
Higher Options is an annual three-day event that takes place in Dublin. Our aim is to provide a forum where second level students are helped in making decisions about their studies by meeting directly with representatives from universities, colleges and education institutions from Ireland, the UK, Europe and beyond.

How much do tickets cost?
A ticket costs €10 and is valid for attendance on one day from 9am to 3pm. All tickets are date-specific.
How can I pay for tickets?
Tickets may be paid for by credit card, laser or cheque.
Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets may be purchased from this website with credit card, laser card or cheque. Any tickets that are available on the day of the event can be purchased at the venue. However, there is no guarantee that tickets will be available on the day.
Are tickets available for those not attending with a school group?
Yes. Tickets can be purchased by parents if a student’s school is not attending the event. Attendance is subject to the permission of parents and/or schools as necessary.
What is the format of the event?
Doors open from 9am to 3pm on each of the three days of the event. Access is open to all those carrying a ticket for the event who wish to meet and talk with representatives of any university, college or institution.
Main Lectures and Career Talks take place throughout the three days, and admission to these is on a first come, first served basis. For health and safety reasons, seating numbers at these talks must be strictly adhered to.
The organisers appreciate the co-operation of all those attending the event in complying to the safety regulations, and members of the Higher Options crew are on hand throughout the event to help and advise.
How do I get to Higher Options at the RDS?
Outside Trinity College, take Nassau Street (N11) for about 150 metres then turn right following the signposts for the R118. Follow the R118 (also known as Mount Street which becomes Merrion Road) for approximately 2km. The Simmonscourt Complex is located on Simmonscourt Road, the first right after the main RDS complex on Merrion Road; turn right at the Four Seasons Hotel. Turn left into the RDS Simmonscourt Complex which is situated on the left hand side after the two office buildings.
The RDS is serviced by bus routes number 4, 7 and 45, which stop outside the Main Hall Entrance to the RDS on the Merrion Road. These bus services can be availed of on Nassau Street outside Trinity College.
By Local Train
Dublin DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) service also operates from the City Centre to Ballsbridge. City Centre stops are (North to South) Connolly Station, Tara Street and Pearse Station. Travel southbound to Lansdowne station (a 10-minute walk from Simmonscourt) or Sandymount station (a 5-minute walk from Simmonscourt).
