Calculator

In association with accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers, our user-friendly tax calculator offers you a snapshot of how the tax changes of the last budget affected you.

Your Euro Income: How many packets of Cigarettes do you buy per week?
Marital Status: How many pints of Beer do you buy per week?
How many litres of Petrol (unleaded) do you buy per week?

Conditions

Because the tax and PRSI rules are so complicated, we've had to make some assumptions for The TaxNet:

  • You are employed in the private sector
  • For the category of married with two earners, it is assumed that both salaries are equal.

We are also assuming that you are claiming only the basic reliefs, that is, the Personal Allowance and the PAYE allowance. There are, of course, many other tax reliefs available.

For the Old Reliables we have assumed

  • the price of a packet of cigarette at €6.85
  • the price of a litre of regular unleaded petrol at €1.04
  • the price of a pint of beer at €4.60
