The first annual Dublin Dance Festival showcased contemporary dance artists from all over the world with a mixture of political, narrative and abstract works.
Cork Choral Festival
The 54th Cork International Choral Festival took place over the May bank holiday weekend and featured 4,600 voices from 22 countries. Cathal O'Baoill and Stockholm's Muskigymnasium performed at the Shandon Sunrise on May 1st. Also includes an interview with festival director Jim Fitzpatrick.
Irish Times School Mag Competition
Roisin Ingle and Conor Goodman announced the winners of the 2008 School Mag Competition in Dublin's Science Gallery. The competition allows secondary school students from around the country to showcase their design and writing skills.
Irish Times Debates

The 11th Annual Theatre Awards took place in The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin. Big winners on the night were Nick Dunning (Best Actor), Eileen Walsh (Best Actress) and Bairbre Ní Chaoimh (Judges' Special Award).
Science Gallery
The Science Gallery was launched in February with its first exhibition, LIGHTWAVE. The exhibition featured installations by leading engineers, scientists, lighting designers and artists from all over the world.
