Serendipity has played a large part in bringing together a trio of fine musicians: harpist Laoise Kelly, fiddle player Tola Custy and flute/whistle player Cormac Breatneach. The three played for the first time together last summer at a Basque festival (hence their chosen title). All have a reputation for invention and an appetite for new horizons, so expect a cache of surprises on this, their first official concert on home turf.

HOUSE

Kidnap Kid
Cyprus Avenue, Cork 10.30pm €15/€13

The recent buzz around pop- house turned out to be a good thing for Matt Relton. The Sheffield-born producer grew up as a drum'n'bass fiend, but his move to more house-based productions paid off with tracks such as Vehl and So Close getting a lot of attention. But while many of his peers have thrown their hat squarely at the pop charts, Relton has other ideas, and last year's Stronger showcased a producer keen to make dark, moody, dramatic dancefloor cuts.

GirlCrew Dublin team up with Discotekken to mark their first birthday as well as International Women’s Day 2015. It’s a cracking line-up for the collective that came together via a Facebook group, with live sets from Bitch Falcon, Butter and Feather, as well as DJs sets from Today FM’s Kelly-Ann Byrne, DIP’s Cait Fahey and others. Let’s hope they’ve also invited GirlCrew icon Mary Robinson to the ball.
