Triskel have drafted in gallerist John Quinlan of the Vangard Gallery as guest curator and he has asked six RHA academicians – Michael Cullen, Martin Gale, Eilis O’Connell, Michael Quane, Vivienne Roche and Donald Teskey – to each choose a non-academician whose work they admire. The choices, in the same order, are Peter Burns, Margaret Corcoran, Bernadette Cotter, Sarah O’Flaherty, Bren Smyth and Gabhann Dunne. A lively, unpredictable mix. AD

Leading Irish vocalist Christine Tobin (left) flies in from London to show some love for Leonard Cohen in his 80th year with her own take on tunes such as Famous Blue Raincoat and Suzanne, taken from her critically- acclaimed 2014 album A Thousand Kisses Deep. The front-rank London group includes pianist and accordionist Huw Warren and guitarist Phil Robson. CL
