Pól Ó Muirí is Irish-Language Editor of The Irish Times and has been writing on language issues in the paper for the past 16 years. As well as his work with this paper, he has been a columnist with The Andersonstown News and the Belfast Telegraph. He is also a published author and has written several volumes of poetry, short stories, biography and radio plays for RTÉ, in Irish and English. He is the author of a successful series of novellas for adult learners. He has a diploma in German from the University of Ulster, a BA (Hons) in Irish and Scholastic Philosophy and a PhD in Irish from the Queen’s University, Belfast.
