Lucht gnó atá san iomaíocht do Ghradam Uí Ógartaigh

Lucht gnó atá san iomaíocht do Ghradam Uí Ógartaigh

Tá 12 comhlacht ar Ghearrliosta Ghradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, gradam gnó bliantúil a reachtálann Gaillimh le Gaeilge i gcomhar leis an Galway Advertiser agus le tacaíocht ó Chumann Tráchtála na Gaillimhe.

Dúirt Bríd Ní Chonghóile, Gaillimh le Gaeilge, go raibh sé ag éirí “níos deacra gach bliain gearrliosta a roghnú de bharr dháiríreacht na n-iarrthóirí faoi úsáid na Gaeilge i mbeagnach gach uile ghné dá ngnó. Bhí na moltóirí an-tógtha i mbliana leis an dul chun cinn a bhí déanta ag roinnt mhaith de na hiomaitheoirí ag soláthar ‘Seirbhís trí Ghaeilge’ chomh maith leis an obair atá déanta acu sa chúlra leis an nGaeilge a chur chun cinn”.

Tá comhlachtaí i gcatagóirí éagsúla ar nós, “Miondíol”, “Turasóireacht agus Fáilteachas”, “Seirbhísí” agus “Comhlachtaí Eile”. Bhronn an Comhairleoir Dónal Lyons teastas gradaim ar na hiomaitheoirí ar fad as a gcuid oibre agus dúirt go raibh an gradam ina ghléas tábhachtach i gcur chun cinn na teanga i nGaillimh.

Is fiú €20,000 luach iomlán na hurraíochta don ghradam agus tá The Irish Times ar cheann de na hurraí preasa. Fógróidh Aire Stáit na Gaeltachta, Dinny McGinley, buaiteoirí na gcatagóirí agus príomhbhuaiteoir an ghradaim Déardaoin 10ú Aibreán, 2014.
