Artist: Dizzee Rascal
Genre: Hip-Hop & Rap
Label: Island

Dylan Mills has come a long way from the streets which made him in the first place. Hits such as Holiday, Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers took him from grime to glam and much brighter streets began to beckon. Mills decamped to Los Angeles to record his fifth album, and the Rascal clearly has his eyes on the Stateside prize this time out. You can hear his desire to make a splash in the US in the overblown, bland, predictable production, which makes come-hither eyes at the EDM fans on Something Really Bad. Gone, by and large, are the off-kilter sonic tweaks and pop experimentations of old in favour of derivative, dull and downright dismal tracks which rarely veer from the bloated straight and narrow. By the time you find Dizzee in raptures about fat bottoms on Arse Like That, you'll be looking for your money back. dizzeerascal.co.uk
