Dan Lissvik has had a good innings with blissful cosmic beats. As a co-founder of Studio, the Swedish producer showed his hand with the widely influential “West Coast” album around a decade ago, before kicking off his solo run as Atelje and D Lissvik.

This bundle of lush atmospherics and small hours jams is named for the time when Lissvik could clock in for work at home after his wife and newborn baby had gone to bed.

The eight tracks, each named after one of the letters in the album title, quickly catch a groove and oscillate wildly with Lissvik using a secondhand analogue graphic equaliser found at a flea market and bass guitar to colour the outline on each.

Whether it’s the dark and edgy rumble which kickstarts N or the way in which D takes off for the stars, Lissvik’s post-midnight ramblings are worth exploring day or night.
