Chvrches: a mesmerising moment | Electric Picnic

Chvrches lead singer Lauren Mayberry basically tiptoes on stage. It’s a very timid entrance considering the set that’s about to come.

The whole show is mesmerising. Mayberry’s voice is incredible, and she has the whole crowd hooked from the word go. The lighting was nothing ground breaking, but so well executed, perfectly in time with the continuously changing tempos.

The songwriting is strong, and it shows. The lyrics aren’t secondary as they can be with a lot of synth-pop/EDM. Leave a Trace and Recover are crowd favourites, but closing the show with Mother We Share created a real festival moment.

In three words: So f***ing good.
