A few years ago, Iceage’s New Brigade album was a visceral bolt from the blue as it introduced the Dane’s fascinating sense of menace and powerful, sharp post-punk ways and means. There may have been little new to how Iceage operated, but it was energising to see a band throw these particular shapes after allthese years. You’re Nothing is a beast armed with similar punk markings, though the band appear to relish how all the live shows they’ve played since their debut have affected their ability as players. In many ways, this is the new album’s most striking difference, the band comfortable and confident enough to add rather than subtract to how they play and conduct their musical affairs. It makes for a fine blue streak of songs, with Ecstasy and Awake in particular scorching out of the blocks.
