It all started out so well. I was bumbling along at a steady pace in my spaceship, picking up coins and dodging obstacles, all to the rhythm of a dubstep track. Then they took away the handy beeps that warned me when to move out of the way of an oncoming obstacle. And then they threw in some targets to shoot while I was at it. It was game over in a matter of seconds.

But this was just the tutorial – the real game doesn’t give you quite so much of a heads-up when you need to shift yourself. Timing is everything, and sadly, mine was lacking. Badly so.

Sinewave is a nice idea. Follow the beat of the track, move every so often, pick up as many coins as you can and avoid dying. I was rubbish at the last part. Staying alive isn't enough. You have to kill your enemies on the beat, move the spaceship on the beat, destroy obstacles on the beat. The closer you are to perfect, the higher your score.Unfortunately, when you throw all this together, it's a bit like trying to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time. Eventually, you'll get confused with all the effort and crash and burn.

There are different soundtracks, and if you persist, you can unlock the harder levels. It’s strangely hypnotic at times. But unless you are a fan of dubstep, it might be more concentration and patience than you are willing to spend on it.
