Pop Corner: Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are just like us

Track of the week: All My Friends by Snakehips

Good-time girl Tinashe guests on this delicate downer of a party track, singing about how "all my friends are wasted/ another Friday night I've wasted". The song is almost told from the opposite point of view to T's breakout single Two On. Imagine it's sung by another guest at that party, one who's perhaps tasked with driving everyone home at the end of the night.

Hero of the week is softy Nathan Sykes.

Nathan (ex-The Wanted) is super proud of how his former bandmate Jay is doing on Strictly. Nathan told Loose Women: "I really sobbed that first night because I just didn't expect him to be that good. In The Wanted we struggle walking. It takes us about three days just to walk in formation. So to see him doing stuff like that . . . I am so proud of him."

Ed Sheeran told Rolling Stone Australia. "At award shows, I never really feel like I fit in, but I think most artists feel the same way. We all put on a front to sit there. But, I mean, I went to Taylor's 4th of July party and it was just her and her mates and it was perfectly chilled, there was no real glitz or glamour to it."

Zero of the week is the music industry, reckons Jess Glynne.

She told the Radio Times that "women get judged more easily. A girl can make a fuss and she's a diva but a guy does the same and he's tough." She went on: "It's easier for a girl to get suppressed in saying things than it is for a guy. That's why I'm adamant that I won't not speak my mind for fear of being judged."
