Visualising the Irish Diaspora: New exhibition at National Gallery of Ireland

Pathos of Distance, a new artwork by Sarah Pierce, explores the visual representation of Irish migrants in art and popular media between 1840 and 1915. More than 40 illustrations, cartoons, portraits and paintings have been sourced from around the world for the exhibition, which runs at the National Gallery of Ireland until May 1st 2016.
