Milestone, GE Capital Services's (GECAS) Irish-based helicopter leasing specialist, is providing a craft to Indian operator, Heligo Charters Private Ltd, for work in oil and gas exploration.
Milestone said on Monday that it is leasing a Leonardo AW139 to Heligo Charters, bringing to five the total number of craft that the Irish company has supplied to the Mumbai-based operation in 2017.
Heligo will use the Leonardo to work offshore for the oil and gas exploration industry, which is one of the biggest customers for helicopter services. It will join two Airbus AS365 Dauphins, which Milestone also leased to the charter company this year, in this operation.
Two other craft that the Irish company has supplied to Heligo in 2017, a Bell 412EP and a Leonardo AW109SP, will be used to ferry VIPs, a growing business for the Indian operator.

Milestone began dealing with Heligo in 2014 and has supplied it with eight of its 15 helicopters.
The lessor's vice president commercial, Michael York, said that Milestone was "excited" to expand its partnership with Heligo.
Milestone is a leading helicopter leasing and financing company with a fleet of aircraft worth $4 billion.
