Airlines seek candidate to run new group

Ryanair and Europe's four other biggest carriers are are looking for a candidate to run the new aviation group they have formed to lobby the EU on their industry's behalf.

Six organisations represent airlines in Brussels at present and the five players intend that their organisation will be leading the leading voice for the industry in the EU.

Ryanair is joining force with IAG, which is soon to take over Aer Lingus, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa and EasyJet to establish the new body which is recruiting a managing director and a communications manager.

The airlines are looking for a managing director with an understanding of the industry and a “proven ability to influence governments, politicians and regulators”. All five airlines are pledging full backing to the group.
