Aer Lingus reports increased passenger numbers for June

Transatlantic traffic up 15.6% compared to June 2014

Traffic at Aer Lingus rose last month, with transatlantic traffic up 15.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The company said total traffic for the month, including Aer Lingus Regional flights, rose two per cent to 1,148,000, compared to 1,125,000 passengers in June 2014.

Mainline traffic rose 3.5 per cent to 1,030,000 passengers.

Short haul passenger numbers increased by 1.5 per cent to 867,000 from 854,000 in June 2014.

The passenger load factor, a measure of how full the aircraft were, was up 0.3 percentage points to 85.8 per cent in the month.

The short haul load factor increased by 0.1 percentage points to 80.4 per cent, while the long haul load factor was down 0.3 percentage points to 92.8 per cent.
