This is a videogame of the film that's based on a toy, but also influenced by previous Lego games. For such a hodgepodge of corporate interests, The Lego Movie Videogame should feel cynical, rushed and crass. Instead, it's charming, boisterous and typically funny. Essentially it's an extended, playable version of the excellent film, which means that you play Emmet, a humble construction worker who is dragged into an adventure involving a secret weapon, a power-crazy dictator and the fight for individuality and imagination. Like previous Lego games (which have a great track record), it's a third-person action/adventure in which you fight enemies, destroy objects, and build new ones. There are also puzzles, mini-games and plenty of jokes, most of which hit the mark. Colourful, lively and with countless playable characters (from Batman to Shakespeare), it's a block party worth going to. warnerbros.co.uk
