Tech Tools: Smartrax S5 Airboard

Move over, Uberboard. The Smartrax S5 Airboard is looking to take over. At £600 (just over €800 at today’s exchange rate), this board will set you back a couple of hundred euro more than the Uberboard.

What exactly does it do? Apparently it’s cooler than a Segway (not difficult) and will take you places at a top speed of about eight miles per hour. Like the Uberboard and the Segway, it’s self-balancing and battery powered. Foot sensors power it on and off, and you move forward and backwards by pointing your toes and digging in your heels. It even comes with a remote locking key fob.

You will get about 10 miles out of it on a full charge, so don't plan any major trips without a backup plan. Firebox. com
