Tech tools: Fitbit leads fitness Charge

New year, new you, new fitness tracker?

It's the new year, so inevitably, that means there are resolutions to be made and fitness regimes to implement. So maybe you need to start looking at some wearable fitness bands. If you've held off until now – and many have – try the Fitbit Charge.

Not only does it monitor all your activity, such as steps and distance travelled, but it will also tell you how many floors you’ve climbed and calories burned, along with your total active minutes for the day.

At night, it will monitor your sleep, and it will even display incoming caller ID if you connect it to your smartphone.

It syncs wirelessly with iOS and Android 4.3 devices with Bluetooth Low Energy. It's not the most subtle of devices, mind you, but then few of the fitness bands have achieved that to date. It's available in Harvey Norman, or online from Firebox.
