Minelab Electronics opens Cork sales office

Maker of metal-sensing technology will use office to support European network of service centres

Minelab Electronics has opened a sales office in Cork, where the team to lead the Australia-based firm's European sales and service operations.

Minelab, which develops and manufactures metal-sensing technology products that can be used for gold and mining, said the new office would help it manage its presence in Europe and support the dealer network here.

“We have an established history of over 15 years in Ireland. With proximity to all European operations and a robust talent pool, it was important to us to retain an office in Cork,” said Vincent O’Brien, European operations manager and sales and development manager.

“The grand opening of our new sales office reaffirms our commitment to maintaining a strong and active presence in Europe to support continued growth throughout the region,” he said.

The company has five authorised service centres in Europe (in the UK, Italy, Czech Republic, Turkey and Greece), and four in Russia. These centres will continue to provide local service and repair for customers.

Minelab’s business has grown 25 per cent year on year in the wider European area, Russia and Turkey, driven by discoveries and new products.
