Remember the Echo Show? The addition to Amazon's smart home device line-up brought a video screen into the mix. Now the Echo Spot shrinks that down to a mini device that can be fitted anywhere in your home. It does everything that the Amazon Echo Dot does – gives you information, weather forecasts, reads your Audible books to you, plays music from Amazon's streaming service or Spotify, all powered by Amazon's Alexa technology – but will also show video flash briefings and video feeds from smart baby monitors and so on. It's not an essential – and officially the Amazon Echo line isn't sold in Ireland yet – but if you've leapt on board the Alexa train, it's a natural progression. The Echo Spot is due to ship in December.
