Sodexo’s Irish chief makes top LGBT leaders list

Margot Slattery named among top 50 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender leaders

The head of Sodexo’s Irish operations has been included in Out at Work’s list of Top 50 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) business leaders , for a second successive year.

Limerick-born Margot Slattery, managing director at Sodxeo Ireland, is ranked in 15th place in the list. Anthony Watson, president and chief executive of the financial services platform Uphold Inc, is ranked first.

The list is compiled via public nominations, with each individual considered by a select advisory panel according to key criteria that includes their role in inciting change through mentoring, and their involvement in helping policy or legislation on LGBT and inclusion issues.

The accolade comes just a few months after Ms Slattery was included in the Outstanding Top 100 LGBT business leaders, published in association with the Financial Times, also for the second year in a row. Ms Slattery was also recently named senior leader of the year in the GLEN Workplace Equality Index.

“It’s fantastic to be included among the top 50 most influential business leaders for a second consecutive year,” said Ms Slattery.

“Earlier this month I was delighted to be involved in the launch of our Sodexo Pride employee network in the UK and Ireland, and it’s by having those visible role models, from the Out at Work list to colleagues we work with every day, that we can encourage people to be themselves and perform to their full potential,” she added.
