100 jobs saved with sale of Lynch hotel to Treacy group
One hundred jobs were secured yesterday with the sale of the former flagship hotel of the Lynch hotel group.
Receiver to the West County hotel in Ennis Declan McDonald of PWC confirmed that the Waterford-based Treacy hotel group had purchased the hotel.
Mr McDonald, appointed by AIB as receiver, declined to say how much the hotel was sold for, but it is understood to be around €2 million. The West County’s sister hotel, the Clare Inn, was bought by Dromoland Castle last year.
The family-owned Treacy group operates hotels in Co Waterford and Co Wexford.
The most recent accounts for the firm that operated the West County, the West County Hotel (Ennis) Ltd, show that it had had bank loans totalling €19.6 million at the end of December 2009.
